CHRISTMAS AT RUSTY’S ANGEL SANCTUARY
Our Christmas project..Rusty’s Sanctuary, where older dogs are celebrated for the life they lived. I baked homemade Christmas doggy treats for the senior dogs we were going to be visiting. Wow! What a place! They have their own tiny houses with all the accommodations one would get at a luxurious resort. As Luke shared “ I’d liked to go here when he gets old”. We all laughed because Lori, Kev, and myself, were thinking the same thing. But the one thing we felt immediately when we arrived was PEACE. It’s a place that has no stress because Emilee and her staff have made sure that the last chapter of their lives are lived out with peace, comfort, and most of all, love. Meet Bull. He’s the one Kev connected with. Bull had no place to go and so there would only be one option for him. But Emilee took him in and now he lives in his own little house with the cats who loved him from the start. The majority of these wonderful dogs are not adoptable due to health or other issues. They need special dog food, medicines, vet care, and just people to love them. But, their are those who are available for adoption…Meet Remington, the one I’m holding, Angel, the one Kev is holding, and Pepper, the one Luke is holding. They all have a past that could break your heart. But, because of Rusty’s Sanctuary, they have a second chance of happiness. Very soon we will have Christmas cards available for the sanctuary to deliver for their promotions. We wanted to do this now to give you all an opportunity to donate on their website at https://www.rustysangelssanctuary.org. for Christmas gifts that you might want to give to your family members, co-workers, fellow dog lovers, or a charity you would love to support. Rusty’s sanctuary currently has 35 dogs who are truly blessed to be living in such amazing facilities. Oh, and did I tell you they also have chickens, ducks, donkeys, horses, and goats! Seriously!!! Now you don’t see that everyday at a dogs facility. ( oh, and the cats…they’re mostly blind but they know a good place when they feel it!). So, if your just now thinking of Christmas presents, this could be a new tradition to start in your family , to give back to “ man's best friend” the dog…and cat..and horses, etc, etc., etc.. I know for our family and for Luke and Lori, are lives were enriched when we had a chance to go and spend time with all these dogs who I know Jesus would say “ well done, good and faithful servant”. Thank you Emilee for following through on the vision you had for these precious senior dogs. May God give you favor now and for the generations to come.
