Celebrations

Anniversary, birthday, Easter..all within a few days of each other. Each starting a new life and ending with hope for the future with JOY. This morning, like every Easter, I wake up with such excitement and jubilation because this was THE day where we had HOPE. Without today the best our lives would be is what we have now on earth This Easter we did have our tradition of delivering Easter baskets to our neighbors but with one addition; my friend Cathleen. She is such a JOY to my life, especially now. We attended our church at CCV and it was all about being a new creation because of Jesus. As I sat there I was remembering the story my friend Cathleen shared about her life. I met her at Phoenix Rescue Mission as a mentor for her. What happened though was what she did for me. To hear her speak of what Christ has done for her is life changing. After being a Christian for a long time it’s easy to forget just how powerful Jesus is in changing lives. With all of us sitting around our kitchen table we talked about Sean’s revivals and the experiences that both Brooke & Jake had at the last one in AZ. No matter what age, gender, color, religion or lack of religion, what was similar was that they came voluntarily to meet Jesus . They needed him, to heal them, to notice them, to save them…just like it was 2,000 years ago. Cathleen’s story is a reminder that Easter is about real lives being changed by a real God forever with Hope & Love because of one man, Jesus, making a choice to suffer & die for us …only to rise and defeat sin and death FOREVER. One day Cathleen may share her story but for now know that Jesus is the reason that Easter means so much to her…and to all of us that know Him. May the Hope that Easter brings be in your life forever
