A NEW VIEW: A NEW PERSPECTIVE

It’s quiet this morning at 5:00 am. I look out and see bunnies, birds, and even some coyotes. It’s the same at our other home but it’s different because this is not our home. We are only here temporarily. We are doing our best to make this “ home” and are grateful for what we were given to stay in. We found new paths to walk Miley, same name but different locations for our stores, different recreation centers to work out, a new backyard to sit in…even new tv programs that are streamed only….but it’s not home. It would be easy to just do our daily routines until we can move back…but we learned that God orchestrated us to live here specifically at just this right time. This rental only became available when we needed it and there hasn’t been another one open since then. Our home owner allowed the doggy door and also the chicken wire to go up for Mileys protection. Some of our neighbors from our real home ( thank you Candy and Linda!) are helping us with our plants and it turns out that Candy is a plant lover and is doing a better job than I was! We could just “ hold up” until we can go back home…but when God orchestrates a new plan it is best not to waste it. Thus, a new perspective but with the same purpose…Jesus. Right now it is difficult to bake, and frankly, I’ve been a lot more tired and stressed, so I am not really motivated to “meet” out new neighbors. Until God reminded me “ this may not be your home but it is where I have placed you for a time such as this” So, I may be using a boxed brownie mix to say hi to our neighbors and that’s ok. It’s about showing the love of Jesus anywhere He places us. Can you relate? Are you making the most of your time here on Earth to share Jesus or is it about just passing time until you go home…to your eternal home? Is your life all about your desires or about Gods purpose for your life? Since being here that is the question He asked of me. My answer? “ I’m weary Lord. Let me just rest until we go back to our real home. It’s so much work to reach out to perfect strangers when we won’t be here that long. Can’t we just pass on this assignment? “ What if Jesus had had that attitude? We know He was weary, tired of hearing all of the bickering from the disciples, the fighting with the pharisees, the constant moving with no home to call His own, the path to the cross, the longing He had to be back home, His real home, with the Father. Instead, Jesus said “ not thy will but yours Father”. And so I will buy that brownie mix, put them on paper plates and reach out to our new neighbors, no matter how long the time, to share the love of Jesus. If you are weary, discouraged, feeling stressed…Jesus is right there to pull you up, put His wings underneath you, to carry you through your sometimes difficult journey…but then it will be time for you to do the same thing for someone else. Our time here is temporary..make the most of it in the name of Jesus so when you are called home He can say to you “ well done good and faithful servant”. Anyone for a brownie?
