IN GOD WE TRUST

The parking lot was full. They were 30 minutes early. As you walked into the room you saw the clear donation box filled to the brim with dollar bills. Everyone had found a seat. It was standing room only, and though many had canes, they were going to stand the entire two hours. The voices were quiet. The air was tense. More people spilled into the room. Since the parking lot was full, a few had to walk further. Their walk was steady, purposed driven. It was a meeting that had not been seen for a very, very long time. Those that were attending were wearing a variety of patriotic garb. With notebook and pen in hand they were ready. The trainer turned on the screen and the room became eerily quiet. We were getting our orders for a very important mission. The date? Tuesday, November 5th, 2024. Many of the people there had been in WW11, North Korea, and Vietnam so they understood the seriousness of this assignment. Only a few had volunteered before. Why had so many people come this time? The majority of people had the same answer….their grandkids. Just like their parents before them, who had fought in different wars, they wanted to do their part to protect the America that their family members had fought so hard for. And just like then, God is with us too. Our dollar bill states “ IN GOD WE TRUST”. As it says in Eph. 6:12 “ For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms”. Volunteering is only one part of this. It also REQUIRES for those who know Jesus to be PRAYING against these evil spiritual forces. I didn’t have to tell the people who came that the time is running short. They know it. Let us go to our daily prayers for our nation and put our trust in GOD. Because, as we all know, He wins in the end….what side will you be on?
