KNITTED FOR ROYALTY
I expected maybe a few mittens from the knitters club in Sun City. I had only spoken to them a few months ago and was asking a lot. They have knitted for so many people in need for a long time but this was the first time for Andre House. Instead, I got this!! Tables and tables of the most beautiful, hand made hats, scarves, booties, blankets that were knitted with so much love. Timidly I asked how many I could bring back with me. This was their response. Overwhelmed with emotion I cried and just kept crying. The last time I had served at Andre House it had been raining and they were so cold. These warm and comfy items were going to make such a difference for them. But, it was one item that really stood out for me. It was the royal blue hat. It had bling and feathers, and knitted with such soft wool. It was designed for royalty…someone who was valued, loved..heirs of the King Himself. After sorting through everything we had over 45 Christmas bags!! Before I put them together I prayed over them so that they would all have a home to the right person..the person who would know they are loved by God as shown by the hearts of these knitters. Do you know how valued you are? Have circumstances caused you to believe God has left you or doesn't care anymore? What I love about God is that He isn’t all talk but rather shows His love through action. And isn’t that what Christmas is all about? At a moment of real time the Savior was born..born to save, suffer, and rise again so that WE would have an eternal home with Him. But not just for heaven. Also for an abundant life now. At this Christmas season we each have an opportunity to give either our time, talents or resources that can bring JOY to someone who needs it, especially now. Im SOOO grateful for the knitters club of Sun City for helping to show LOVE to those in need but I’m also so thankful for Jesus, the reason for Christmas. May each of us find ways that we too can help others.
