MEET PEARL
My Honda Pilot had lasted for almost 400,000 miles before our mechanic said “ it’s time to say good bye”. It was sold that day. Jake left with the truck I had been using and I was driving “fridge”. But fridge wasn’t cold, as his name might lead you to believe. With no a/c and the high temps coming I had to find a car. I wrote down what I wanted and started looking. One thing was for sure; I wanted the color pearl. Over Memorial Day weekend I found the car I wanted; 2013 Honda CRV with the color Pearl. The problem was so did everyone else. It was sold in 15 min. Used cars are in HIGH demand, especially the ones I wanted. The next day another 2013 used car, this one was a Toyota RAV4, came onto the lot. Our sales person held it for us until we were able to see it. Although it had black interior it was MORE than I had wanted, at $4,ooo less! Within a short time the car was mine. And next week it will be 117 degrees in AZ..Isn’t it just like God that the car came just in time, and more than I could ask for? It reminded me of the story in the bible when the disciples were fishing and they hadn’t caught anything all night. Jesus yells to them on the shore if they had caught anything. Simon yells backs “no”-of course Jesus already knew it so why ask? He then tells them to put their nets on the other side, in the middle of the day, when every fishermen knows the fish don’t bite at that time. Well, we know what happens next right? You guessed it..they did catch fish, LOTS of fish, more than they could catch..and still the nets didn’t tear or the boats sink. Simon jumps out of the boat, swims to Jesus, and tells Him he’s not worthy. I felt the same way when I bought “Pearl”. God cares about every aspect of our lives, has a plan BETTER than we can ask for, if only we are willing to “throw” our nets out in places that we know are impossible because that’s where He shows up the best. Me and Pearl are having such a good time…a daily reminder that my Jesus is smiling as we crank up the a/c listening to the song “ my God is a faithful God”.
