To Be Brave: Step 3
Yoga…for active seniors. It’s the name for the class. I wasn't new to yoga. Some may remember that a few years ago I took a “goat yoga” class. They advertised that baby goats would walk on your back and give you the experience of what real yoga was all about. Unfortunately, the goats who walked on my back were not the baby goats, but rather, the mommies who were pregnant with the baby goats..that’s a very different experience! So, I figured this class would be a piece of cake. It starts slow, with stretching and movement. How hard could that be since I work out everyday, including weight lifting? Well, let’s just say I felt everything the next day. What I don’t do on a regular basis is the stretching and, at this age , it is especially imperative. As I strive to be more balanced in my life I find yoga to be an integral part of the process. For me its a time to slow down, and be one with Jesus. I meditate on Him, praising Him for all that He has done in my life. With all of life’s challenges it’s easy to forget what you have and focus on what you don’t have. As I finish the rest of my cardio work up tomorrow I can be assured it’s in Gods hands and that is the best place to be. Are you seeking balance in your life? Maybe yoga is not on your list of things to do but I would highly recommend spending solitude time with Jesus.. With Him you can find clarity of purpose and peace…
