MY IRISH ROSE

My Irish Rose. The roses were a mixture of lavender, red, and vibrant greenery. Along with it, was a Irish card that opened to four leaf clovers. Last, but not least, was a small, green box. In it was a round, gold necklace. It was an outline of the tree of life with dainty emeralds to match my Irish ring. Like most couples on Valentines Day, a card is sufficient, with a possible bouquet of roses. But this particular Valentines Day was different. We have made a decision to make every day count, really count, so it is with a cheesy romantic day called Valentines Day. With our plans for retirement and going to Ireland coming up soon, Kev felt that this was the perfect gift. And so it was. It was the most thoughtful gift that brought me to tears. And for my gift? A box of homemade dark chocolate hearts with a dancing jingle dog to the tune of a sappy romantic song. I know. It seems silly but it came from the heart and he knew it. Valentines Day may be just another commercialized holiday, but Kev and I are embracing everyday, every holiday, every moment together, as a gift from the Lord. So maybe you too might embrace this day of love to show others just how much they mean to you. It’s easy to assume they already know it but, we could ALL use a little bit of reminders! So, to my love, thank you for reminding me again that I am truly your one and only Irish Rose.
