NEW WINDOWS: BRING IN THE LIGHT NOT THE HEAT

After several years we had finally decided on a window company. These windows were double paned with a gas filling and special tinting so that none of the outdoor elements could enter in our home. The unique framing design also protects from the heat. And so beautiful! As the sun blazed with such intensity, our windows continued to keep cool to the touch. The rooms that were usually so hot are now cool enough to stay in through the 118 degree temps! What makes this possible is the layering of barriers that are created specifically to ward off the environment you don’t want to be in your place of sanctity. Healthy barriers in our lives also keep us from elements that can harm us. Some relationships, or jobs, or food for that matter, can be destructive if healthy boundaries are not put in place. God knew this too. The Holy Spirit is that protective barrier from what is good and what is evil; what is Gods will and what is ours. Are you struggling with something or someone or your current path that is causing destruction in your life? Sometimes, when we finally recognize we need to make some healthy changes, we just don’t know where to begin. Like our windows. There are a million window companies all promising different things. It was only when we identified what we absolutely had to have and those that were negotiable, did we make the right decision. But it all starts with God. He has shown me I need to make a change too. The stress of our plumbing issues has caused me to internalize it and thus I have been suffering physically and mentally for it. I’ve gained weight, have sleepless nights, muscle spasms throughout my body, and have no sense of peace in our home and in my life. It wasn’t until Kev shared with me that maybe all these issues are due to…you guessed it…trusting God. For me it meant allowing all the chaos to run its course until the end…knowing that God has it all under His control and with a purpose. Easier said than done, right? But God knows this…knows us. He created protective barriers, like the Holy Spirit, to keep us close to Him on what is the right path, the right decisions, the right boundaries, so that, in the end, we do have peace, comfort, and confidence of the future to come….an eternal future with Jesus. May you also hear the Holy Spirit and find your right path again. Like our new windows, we can see clearly now…and NO heat!
