IN GOD AND GOD ALONE
“IT WAS GOD ALONE WHO PREVENTED THE UNTHINKABLE”, President Trump wrote. With just a turn of his head the bullet pierced through his ear, not his head, and he fell down. At that moment, when shots were heard, everything changed. Many would say it was just a matter of time that this was going to happen. And some would say it’s not over. But everyone would agree on one thing “God saved President Trump”. With the political race still four months out, a large majority of Americans are asking the question “ how did we get here? It’s no longer about political differences; its about the other side being the enemy…and maybe that’s the motive of the 20 year old shooter. But after hearing Mike Huckabee last night, I believe it is about this; “ For our fight is not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, and against spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places”. This is not a political war per say, but rather a spiritual war. As Trump also wrote, “ It is more important than ever that we stand United, and show our True Character as Americans, remaining Strong and Determined, and not allowing Evil to Win”. As Christians we know what happens in the end…God wins. But, this warfare won’t be won in November. It will be won on our knees, praying, humbling ourselves before the Great I am, asking for forgiveness, and turning back to God. In God and God alone do we have hope for the future of America. And so I will end this special blog with a prayer;
Thank you Lord that you spared President Trumps life. We pray for the families who lost their loved one and pray for your healing touch of those that were critically injured. We need you God. Help us to come back to you, to love as Jesus did, to humble ourselves, to ask for forgiveness of our sins, to remember what values our forefathers had when America was created. Father, heal our land, our hearts,…give back to us the humanity we once had for each other. In you and you alone is our hope. Amen.
