WE ARE MOVING! KINDA OF

Like the title says..we will be moving sometime in the near future for who knows how long or where. It all started when dirt came up out of our kitchen sink. While I was talking with our home warranty company, I heard rushing water from the utilities room. Our pipes were so old that they finally collapsed and with the blockage built up everything blew . It should have been finished a month ago. The problem? Asbestos. The first plumber knew it was in our home but disregarded it so he could finish faster. Now the entire house will be torn apart with more new plumbing, flooring, and possibly new painting and new bathrooms. We will have to temporarily move in order for them to get it all done. It could take two months! Just when I thought it was bad for us I received a text from a friend of mine. And so the picture of the snakes. Her story started with smelling gas..which led to new pipes that burst, to flooding ( mind you she had just put in new flooring ) to a small crack in the bathroom wall, to tearing out all her bathrooms, to her son’s snakes food ( mice) ending up in her car and decided to climb up her leg while driving on the freeway!!! You can’t make this up! But, unlike us, she had to stay in her home during all these disasters and borrow the neighbors bathroom and washing machine! As difficult as this has been for both of us, I believe that some of you who are reading this blog can attest to your own times of chaos, of situations that keep spiraling down further and further. Your place of peace has been so disrupted that you find it hard to look up. Some of you may be there right now. It could be an illness, facing your future alone, financial worries, or our country’s future…so many unknowns. As I tried to navigate through all our situation I heard Jesus say “ one day at at time”. Matt. 6:34 “ Refuse to worry about tomorrow, but deal with each challenge that comes your way, one day at a time. Tomorrow will take care of itself”. One day at a time…in Jesus. He is the one who is in control and knows what is best for us. It can be hard to believe this because your pain and your fears are very real. And then I remember Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane. He knew the pain, suffering, loneliness, he was about to face. He could have said “no” but chose to go forward. Why? Because he knew God LOVED Him and that this path was the one he was predestined to follow. And he was right. God loves you too and knows which path will bring you to your true JOY, your true purpose, your true eternal destiny. Lean into your journey, one day at a time, and you too will find your peace once again, even in the middle of the storm.
