SEVIER UTAH

Sevier Utah. Ever heard of it? Neither had I until I started doing the research for my book. It’s beautiful with lots of fishing spots, hot springs, hiking trails, and most notably, 30 Mormon families who came to settle in 1864. But why would I be interested in this town for my book? Well, this is the starting place where it all begins. Why this picture? What happened on the fourth of July in Idaho that would bring us here to Sevier Utah? Intrigued? So was I. I didn’t realize when I started this new adventure the amount of research that would be needed to bring this story to life. The saying “ its not the end that matters but rather the journey ”, is true when it comes to this book. The process is like a puzzle; the pieces are there but finding their perfect place is challenging but fun! I find myself laying down watching tv but thinking of what I need to research for the next step. This past weekend our church, CCV, did a movies theme sermon on “Rudy”. Pastor Ashley asked the question, “ what is your dream? Have obstacles stopped you? Has this pandemic built in fear so that you gave up any thought of the future you once hoped for? Like Rudy, he too came to a fork in the road where he decided to give up. But, fortunately, the head groundsmen for Norte Dame was there to encourage him to go that last step. Rudy did and guess what? Surprisingly, his team mates made sure his dream came true and he played in the last game of his senior year. How about you? People are starting to leave their place of security only to be asking themselves “ now what?” Some are celebrating their milestone moments, going on the vacation they booked over 15 months ago, grieving those that passed away, seeing family members that were missed so much…whatever your life looks like I pray God will illuminate your hearts desire as you make 2021 a year to remember..only this time with a smile..Have you figured out yet why Sevier Utah?
