HERE COMES THE MONSOON
The alerts went off on both our phones; “ emergency flooding for our area. Do not go out . Do not go on the roads. This is life threatening.” Wow. Now that would get anyones attention right? Well, I was getting my hair done after several cancellations and nothing was going to stop me..it’s just a little rain. As I started to get ready I looked out to the driveway. It was a rushing river ( no joke). The rains had come down so hard and so fast that even getting out to our front street with Pearl ( yes she’s back as of last night with her new transmission!) was a perilous situation. after cancelling for the third time Kev showed me the backyard. What you may not be able to see is that our pool was almost at the top! But, even with all these small setbacks we were so grateful for this wonderful rain. When we first moved to AZ they were having a lot of monsoon activity. It was our Saturday night entertainment watching it on the golf course. And three years later it has come back. I spent the morning watching great movies with Kev, baking cookies, and making turkey chili soup for our weekly dinners. It was perfect. The rain has now stopped and the sun is peeking thru the clouds. It was almost as if nothing threatening had happened. Do you ever feel that way about life? One minute your’e in such chaos, tragedy , fear, pain and then the next minute it’s over? When the deluge of rain came I was forced to make a decision and it would determine a new course for that moment…maybe even a life change. Some of you may be in the middle of your own monsoon , and you don’t know which direction to go in. Did you know you don’t have to be alone? Jesus is right there, in the middle of the chaos, waiting for you to ask Him to help you, to be your guiding hand thru it all. You just need to ask.. I pray that whatever dilemma you may be in you can be assured Jesus is there and He is faithful.
