WELCOME BACK
In a few weeks the weather will rise and the “snowbirds” will leave and go back to their winter homes. But others are just returning. We don’t see them at first, but rather hear them. It’s the familiar sound of cooing. It wakes you up early in the morning, bringing a smile to your face. It marks that spring is now here. Sure enough, the dove that was here last year has returned. With the expectations she would come back, Kev had added some additional protection from the harsh weather, and some beauty to welcome her home. And guess what? Yesterday our first rose opened up. At that same time I saw the two new baby doves. The mama dove had left to get food and there they were. She trusted that her babies were secure in their home because she knew from the past it was a safe place to build her nest and give birth to her new little ones. Recently I had been feeling “off”, not knowing why I was unsettled, not feeling peace. Has that ever happened to you? Do you sometimes find yourself at a place where you’re just feeling like your life is not where you want it to be but not knowing exactly what needs to change? As I was watching the doves God spoke to my heart. The dove knew where to go for safety, where to patiently wait for her purpose to come, and trusted my family that we would allow her to do this. God reminded me that I am right where He wants me to be, I’m safe with Him, and doing His purpose. I can trust Him because He has always been faithful in the past and will continue to be in the future. When He is going to make a shift I will be the first to know it. Until then, just like my dove, I can rest knowing I’m safe with Jesus. Soon the baby doves will be learning to fly and off they will go…along with the mama. At some point you too will have a change in your life. I encourage you all to rest in Jesus when you get anxious or feeling out of sorts…lacking in peace. Like the dove, sit quietly, patiently, knowing something AMAZING is about to happen….He was faithful before and will be in the next chapter of your life.
