WHAT DOES EASTER MEAN TO YOU?
It was a question that was asked at church. What does Easter mean to you? For some its wearing your favorite pink dress with your pink sweater and cute little pink shoes ( can you guess who this is?), or Sunday brunch with your entire family, or the famous Easter egg hunt at your Grandmas. For others it’s about going to church, like you do for Christmas. After sharing an Easter brunch and partaking of my three tier vanilla, strawberry, and lemon cake, I asked everyone what does Easter mean to you using only one word. The video said it all. Grace, Hope, Forgiveness, Redemption. Easter is personal because Jesus is personal. He may have died for everyone but for you He died for you. Everyone’s life changes differently when Jesus comes into the picture because we are all coming from different places, different needs, different secrets, different purposes. But we know one thing all of us need…salvation…and that is what Easter is all about. Jesus died and rose again, conquering sin and death. And with that the curtains were torn in the temple so that we, as sinners, could finally have access to God Himself. Jesus was the final sacrifice required..the final act. So, what does Easter mean to you? Has Jesus made a difference in your life? Do you know Him personally? Sometimes you can be a Christian for so long that you forget why you made that decision. He’s just another slice in your daily life, like going to the gym. Easter. It was personal to Jesus. Maybe it’s time to ask that question again…” What does Easter mean to me?” I pray this time it brings you back to the one who loves you soooo much. Hallelujah! He has Risen! Amen and amen.
