2023: THE STAR OF DREAMS
2023. It is now upon us. Most people look back on the year before and reflect on all that has happened, what did not happen, and have hopes of what might happen in the new year. Like so many of you have posted, there was great joys of grand babies that were born, weddings that had been postponed due to Covid, graduations that brought tears of joy for both the graduate and their parents ( yes, I can attest of this!) relocations to new homes and for some, new states. The list can go on and on. And then there was the things that did not happen; the prayer for healing ; the relationship you had hoped for; the job that did not come…the list can go on and on. And now we have a new year where anything can be possible. It’s a fresh start for new dreams. Every year I ask the Lord for a word that will depict the new year. This year it is “ Dream”. Like many of us, the last few years have been so disappointing, a feeling of hopelessness, and for others, a lack of faith. For that reason I started something special at work. I’m making clouds that will hang from it stars that people have written their dreams on. I have also handed them another star with that same dream so they can see it in front of them daily. How about you? What is YOUR dream(s) for 2023? Dreams are bigger than goals…they involve your heart and soul. Last year when I came back after seeing my family, I had stopped dreaming for anything. I felt as though I had finished everything, especially after seeing my brother. With my diagnosis, my job, my lack of purpose, I couldn’t dream. Do you feel that way with this new year here? I want to encourage you today that it’s time to dream again. Reach into your heart and soul and believe that the God who gave His only Son this Christmas season is the same God who is saying to dream….and dream big. Like any year, there will be times of joy, and times of sorrow. But I believe, truly believe, 2023 will be a year of dreams coming true. After coming back in April, God gave me a gift with a new job that gave me JOY and PURPOSE everyday. I now am looking forward to the other changes to be coming. I’m taking a step of faith and am dreaming again. So, are you ready? Write them down today. Keep them in front of you. Be open for new changes, new directions, and a renewed faith in Jesus. My verse for this year from Proverbs 29:18 “ Where there is no vision the people perish”. As Kev and I walked out of the New Years Eve service, I looked up and saw this star…and the cross…and an empty cave, It’s the story of Jesus…his birth, death, and his resurrection ….our greatest dream that is guaranteed…heaven with him. May you all dream again in this New Year. I already have ten dreams written!!…and the list goes on and on…
