CELEBRATING ST PADDYS IN OUR NEW HOME
It’s quiet now. Kev and Jake are asleep, our friends have left, and all the balloons have been popped. We celebrated early St.Paddy’s Day for our house warming party with our friends and family. It was so wonderful to be able to host everyone in one place and still have room! As we sat and ate corn beef, cabbage, sweet potato casserole, mash potatoes, homemade whisky Irish soda bread, and my infamous Bailey’s Irish Creme cupcakes, I sighed. We were truly home. To say we had been busy these last two weeks would be an understatement. But tonight I look around and I am grateful God chose this house for us. I even have an entire room just for my baking! Our new love sofa came just in time to seat our friends. After everyone had left it was just Kev, Jake and myself in the living room. Jake looked around and said “ I like this house mom”. I just smiled. I do too. I’m excited to see what God has in store for the King family in this home, this community, this new chapter of our lives. We will be having many celebrations in April with Easter and Jakes graduation. But for tonight it’s about bowing my head and thanking my Father for this amazing gift. We know this house is not just for our pleasure. It is to be a place of glorifying God for the people He wants to be here. Saturday night we had some very special friends, Johnny and Jennifer and their amazing children , to come over after church to see our new home and have my fancy cupcakes. Jennifer shared that the house brought peace, a sense of calm. The world continues to be chaotic; what was once about Covid is now about a senseless, horrific war. We can’t change everything in the world but maybe we can make our sanctuary a place of peace, calmness, serenity for those who need it the most…the hopeless, the lost, the fearful,…the ones who don’t know Jesus. Goodnight Father. Thank you for another special moment to be remembered this year.
