WELCOME JOY

It’s 5:00 am again and it’s Sunday. The one day to rest. I tried to go back to sleep but my mind was racing. There is still soooo much to be done and not enough time to do it. It’s the one day I have with Kev to look for the items we found we needed and yes, wanted. And of course we are going to have our house warming party soon. What was I thinking? If you’ve ever moved you know what I was thinking. The sooner we get this done the sooner we are able to get back to “normal”. But, you quickly find out that may not come..at all. There will ALWAYS be something to get or do because this is OUR home. As Kev continues to work on the guest bathroom I started on the guest bedroom. Without planning, these items were on my bed as I tried to organize where everything will go. Two words stood out; welcome JOY. Huh? I had to laugh because JOY would not be the word I would use right now. Absolute fatigue would be more accurate. But, it kept jumping out to me; Welcome JOY. How many people can say that right now? Those in Ukraine, Russia, your family, friends, neighbors? There are many who are struggling to survive their immediate circumstances , much less put up a sign that says “ Welcome JOY “. As I pondered this picture, I was reminded of the verse from Ps. 30:5 “ weeping may tarry for the night, but JOY comes with the morning”. The night can seem like it’s never going to end, but, morning does come up with the brilliance of the sun, and we can rejoice that God has given us a new day. Kev and I have gone through some very dark nights but today He has shown us that we can welcome JOY. Tomorrow will have its own challenges, but for today, we rejoice for all that He has given to us in this new home. Whatever you are facing, God is there, in your darkest moments, and He will bring you through to the morning.
