THE HEART OF A MOTHER
As I took the sheets off the table, little by little, the sun came through, gently shining down on the pink plates and yellow placemats. The china tea cups glistened and the pop up flowered Mothers Day cards shouted “ today is the day to celebrate the most important gift God has given us….Mothers. The beauty of the flowers, the smell of the roses, the cafe lights brightly shining on this most special day. And the cake…lemon raspberry with cream cheese frosting, infused with a lemon glaze, and topped with raspberries and lemon slices. The mimosas were poured, along with the rose lemonade tea. Goodie bags were filled with chocolates and exotic tea bags. Yes, everything was ready. And then they came. One by one with smiles, food, and JOY. My neighbors. On this day before Mothers Day God had wanted to send them a special message…I love you…I see your tears, your weariness, your pain, your burdens. For just a few hours He wanted them to experience JOY with friends, food, laughter, and of course cake!!! Many of them have been on my prayer chalkboard…cancer..family stresses, losses of loved ones. They reminded me of Naomi. She had lost her husband, sons, her home. But God gave her Ruth, her daughter in-law. She would be the one to show Naomi that He had not forgotten her and that He would keep His promise. It was through Ruth and her marriage to Boaz that Jesus would come. Though mothers suffer many heartaches, God has enabled them to endure the chaos and hardships of families, of health, of being the “HEART” of all that brings JOY to life. They are the reflection of Gods heart. For all the Mothers who are reading this blog He has a message for you too….thank you…thank you for loving your family, for enduring the sleepless nights, for sacrificing yourselves..for showing others MY heart… I have not forgotten you. You are my treasured gift to all mankind…I am here and will never leave you or forsake you…soon you will receive your eternal reward. So, to my neighbors…May the JOY of the Lord fill your hearts with Hope, Peace, and Love. As for my feathered mamas ( for those who have been following my stories of my three different birds ) praying for your babies to come. You’ve got this. Tick tock. It’s day 9….
